When it comes to finding the perfect base, we hear it time and time again that foundation is the one product worth investing in. Ask any beauty expert worth their salt – which formula rules supreme above all others – and there’s a strong chance Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation will be declared as the best. So, when the genius make-up artist behind the cult-status product releases her own foundation – trust us, we’re paying attention.
Make-up experts will immediately recognise the name Pat McGrath, but for the uninitiated: she’s fashion’s go-to runway maestro and has launched more beauty trends than, arguably, any other artist. Pat and her synonymous line beauty line Pat Mcgrath Labs are finally launching a foundation on July 26 and her buzzworthy ‘Sublime Perfection’ formula is already garnering rave reviews.
To get the lowdown on the highly anticipated launch and more about what’s coming to Sephora over the next 12-months, we caught up with Alphie Sadsad National Artistry Lead at Sephora Australia.
“The key trend that I am seeing for 2020 is all about washes of colour. Pallets are still going to be around, but people are doing more of that watercolour effect so it’s fading from brighter colour but doing it as more of a wash.
“You can still do smoky eyes but rather than being so dark it is all about the lightness of it – and having fun with colour,” Sadsad explains.
Next Season Must-Haves
1)
“My first that lives in my bag is the Sephora Collection Colorful Facemask,” Alphie says. That basically goes in a travel bag, into a kit, everywhere. It’s easy to put it on when you feel dehydrated.”
2)
“Alpha H Liquid Gold is another one that I love. It contains Glycolic Acid so it exfoliates my skin without needing to scrub.“
3)
“Newest one would be Pat McGrath‘s brand new Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Foundation, love.”
4)
“My next one is IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream SPF 50. It has a great SPF, you need a sunscreen, sunscreen is always very important.”
5)
“Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 is like second to none. It always lives in my pocket. With colourless once put it in your lips or your cheeks, really really nice.”
