Selena Gomez is currently celebrating her 27th birthday with a friend-filled European holiday, blessing us mere mortals with a few stylish photos along the way. To thank her friends, family and fans for their birthday wishes, the singer broke her social media silence to post a sunset rooftop photo wearing a white maxi dress. But it was the image she posted over the weekend that really had us obsessed: while on a gondola in Italy, Selena shared a snap wearing a red polka dot and floral dress by London-based label, Rixo.
“Me, Italy -trying desperately to look like a Fellini film,” she captioned the pic, which showed off the print-clashing red design by the Britsh cool-girl brand, which already counts the likes of Reese Witherspoon and Lena Dunham as fans.
If you haven’t yet heard of Rixo, the vintage-inspired label was started in 2015 by best friends Orlagh McCloskey and Henrietta Rix, who started the brand from their shared living room in London after noticing a gap in the market for vintage-inspired pieces at a contemporary price point.
Speaking to marie claire back in May, the young designers said that while it’s crazy seeing someone like Reese Witherspoon – or now, Selena Gomez – in their designs, they find just as much joy out of spotting someone on the street dressed in Rixo. “Even just seeing someone on the street wearing Rixo, you get a little bit of a shock. When I was home for Christmas, a girl walked into the restaurant I was in wearing one of our first dresses. It’s even nice to see a stranger wearing our dresses,” McCloskey said.
Selena’s summery midi dress, named Josephine, is still available to shop for $600.
