When it comes to dashing young royals, Prince Charles doesn’t exactly fit the bill.
Nonetheless, a newly resurfaced photo of the 70-year-old has made us see Prince William and Harry’s dad in a completely new light. Truthfully, we can hardly believe it – Charles was kind of hot in his day.
It’s not just the uncanny resemblance to the Duke of Sussex that has us a doing a double-take. A quick internet search of “young Prince Charles” has revealed some surprising information.
Before his marriage to the late Diana Spencer, the future King of England was given the nickname ‘Playboy Prince’ by the press. His great-uncle Lord Mountbatten even offered up his home as a bachelor pad telling reporters that Charles was constantly “popping in and out of bed with girls.” He even enjoyed a brief fling with Barbra Streisand.
Not to mention the time he kissed a 16-year-old fan during his royal tour of Perth in 1977. Yes, it’s totally creepy but it further proves his heartthrob status.
While history suggests his many affairs might have been exaggerated, it’s all great fodder for season three of The Crown which will explore his early courtship with Camilla Parker Bowles and Princess Diana.
