Intrigued? Below, everything to know about Netflix’s Pieces of Her.
What Is Pieces of Her About?
As mentioned, Pieces of Her is based on the 2018 book by bestselling crime author Karin Slaughter, which follows the story of Andrea Oliver, who is “caught in a deadly mass shooting at a local diner. Moments later, she witnesses her mother Laura, violently eliminating the threat with such ease.”
Its official description reads: “As Andrea begins to unravel her mother’s actions on that very day, her perspective on their entire familial relationship takes a new turn. Soon after, figures of her mother’s past reappear and she is forced to escape. While on the journey, she attempts to piece together the remnants of truth that her mother buried long ago.”
Who Has Been Cast In Pieces of Her?
Toni Collette, coming off her acclaimed starring role in Unbelievable, will take on the series title character Laura Oliver, while Australian actress Bella Heathcote has been cast as her daughter, Andrea.
Also joining the cast is another Aussie actor David Wenham (Lord of the Rings), Jessica Barden (The End of the F***ing World), Joe Dempsie (Skins), Jacob Scipio (Bad Boys for Life) and Omari Hardwick (Power).
The series also has an impressive lineup of female creatives behind the scenes, including Charlotte Stoudt, who wrote the screenplay, as well as executive producers Lesli Linka Glatter and Bruna Papandrea, who was behind the team of Big Little Lies and Gone Girl.
