Warning: This article contains major spoilers to ‘Ozark’ season four, part one.
If you’ve looked at (or even very, very briefly glimpsed) your Netflix homepage at any point over the last couple of weeks, you’ll no doubt be familiar with crime thriller series, ‘Ozark’.
The cult show starring Jason Bateman, Laura Linney and Julia Garner has had a whirlwind run since its first season went to air in 2017, with more Emmy and SAG nominations than we can count on four hands (let alone two!).
Finally, in 2021 we were gifted with the highly anticipated fourth and final season—but sneaky as ever, producers found a way to lead us along by only releasing one of two parts.
Part one was naturally a roller coaster in itself, touted as the best and most gripping of the entire series, and its cliffhanger ending had us desparate to know more.
Here, everything you need to know about ‘Ozark’ season four part two.
When will ‘Ozark’ season four part two be released?
Netflix has now confirmed the second part of Ozark‘s final season will drop on April 29—around three months after the explosive first part dropped.
What will happen in ‘Ozark’ season four part two?
The second part of season four will pick up where the end of part one left off, with Javi (Alfonso Herrera) having killed Darlene (Lisa Emery) and Wyatt (Charlie Tahan) after they failed to cease dealing heroin.
Ruth (Julia Garner) devastatingly discovers their bodies, and after discovering that Javi is the murderer, she rushes to the Byrdes (Marty, played by Jason Bateman and Wendy, played by Laura Linney), where she threatens them.
Ruth tells Marty, “If you want to stop me, you’re going to have to f-king kill me.” Ruth then drives away from the Byrdes with her destination unknown as the episode comes to an end.
The fate of each character is a pretty sizeable question mark, but with that said, we can safely expect part two to reveal whether the Byrdes finally get out of the cartel, and what Ruth will do about Javi.
On that note, Julia Garner, who spoke to marie claire Australia recently for her hauntingly accurate portrayal in Inventing Anna, also dropped a sneaky clue about the finale outcome in Ozark, telling Entertainment Tonight: “It gets more intense. It gets very intense. The ending of season [four], the first half, was just the beginning of the intensity, that ending.”
How many episodes will there be in ‘Ozark’ season four part two?
Part two will feature seven episodes, which means season four will have a total of fourteen episodes including part one.
It is understood that the second instalment completed filming in late 2021 alongside the first part of the series, which means the footage is now in the editing process.
Given it’s now been several months since the cameras stopped rolling, we can only assume producers are *really* giving the ending a special treatment. To say we’re excited would be an understatement.
