Pop superstar Taylor Swift is officially in Australia, after she touched down in Melbourne just after 1am on February 14. The star is here to perform the next leg of her much-awaited Eras Tour concert, which is sold out in both Sydney and Melbourne.
However, die hard Swifties couldn’t help but wonder where her Super Bowl winning boyfriend Travis Kelce was, and if he would make it to Australia for her Sydney shows?
The good news is that Kelce arrived in Sydney around 8:30am on Thursday morning, exiting a private jet onto the tarmac. Here’s finally here—and this is what we know.
Is Travis Kelce Coming To Australia?
With Kelce having just won the Super Bowl it was up in the air if he would make it back to Australia in time for her Aussie concerts. While he missed the Melbourne shows due to the Victory parade and various other charity events he had committed to in the US, he did tease on his New Heights podcast that he would be ‘island-side’ soon.
“I’m about to venture over to an island real soon,” Travis said. His brother asked where and he simply responded, “I don’t know. I think the best ones are south right now. So, I’m ‘a go south.”
Once Swift was in Sydney, the news came that she was sending her private jet back to Honolulu, Hawaii – which fans assumed meant it would be transporting her paramour.
On February 22, TMZ confirmed that Kelce is en route to Australia in a private jet to support Swift at her tour. It’s good news for fans, who were hoping that he would show up to support her just as she did at the Super Bowl.
“Travis Kelce better be on the flight to Australia with Taylor after the Super Bowl if she is traveling from her tour in Japan to the Super Bowl before going all the way down to Australia,” a fan shared on Twitter.
He arrived in relatively nice conditions to Sydney around 8:30am on Thursday, February 22.
What Have Travis & Taylor Been Up Before Australia?
Following the Super Bowl win, Taylor spent the night celebrating Travis and the Kansas City Chiefs, before beginning the long journey back to the southern hemisphere.
Swift’s plane disembarked from Honolulu, Hawaii on February 13 at 4:53pm, arriving in Melbourne at 00:48am on the 15th, due to the time difference. The timing means that Swift missed the chance to celebrate her first Valentine’s Day with him. Swift travelled on a Bombardier Global 6000, a private jet likely booked through a jet service.
Swift then played four shows in Melbourne before dashing to Sydney. She has a further four nights booked at Accor Stadium, from Friday, February 23 to Monday, February 26. While down under, it’s expected the star will bring thousands of dollars into the Australian economy, with over 600,000 tickets sold to her shows.
