Former U.S president Donald Trump has become the first U.S president to be convicted of a crime after a New York jury found him guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records.
These records concealed hush money payments of US$130,000 (AUD$196,114) made to a woman named Stormy Daniels.
Daniels, an adult film star, has been at the centre of the historic trial and her voice played a vital role in the jury’s final verdict.

Who Is Stormy Daniels?
Born in Louisana, Daniels’ real name is Stephanie Clifford.
The 45-year-old adult film star and director has not only won many awards for her work but has also made appearances in Hollywood films like The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up .
Daniels also has some experience in politics and identifies as a republican.
What Happened Between Stormy Daniels And Donald Trump?
Trump has been found guilty of paying Daniels money in exchange for keeping quiet about an alleged affair.
During the trial, Daniels explained that the pair met at a celebrity golf tournament in July 2006, when Daniels was 27 and Trump was 60.
Daniels alleged that Trump invited her to join him for a meal and Daniels publicist encouraged her to take him up on the offer.
Trump’s wife, Melania, had given birth and was not at the tournament.
Daniels claimed that when she arrived at the Trump’s suite, Trump answered the door in silk pyjamas and changed into boxers when she went to the bathroom.
The pair had sex with consent but Daniels also claimed the experience left her disoriented.
Daniels claimed that Michael Cohen, an attorney for Trump, paid her US$130,000 in “hush-money” to stop her from revealing the affair. This occurred just before the 2016 election, which Trump won.
In the years after, Daniels claims that she was verbally and physically threatened to remain silent. This allegedly occurred after she agreed to an interview to In Touch magazine about the alleged affair.
After she agreed to an interview with CBS’s 60 Minutes, a shell company connected to Cohen threatened Daniels with a $20m lawsuit for broken their non-disclosure deal (NDA).
On television, Daniels shared that she was risking a one million dollar fine but it was “very important to me to be able to defend myself”.
Originally, Cohen said that he did not make the payments to Daniels but he later testified that Trump had in fact directed him to make the US$130,000 hush-payment.
Where Is Stormy Daniels Now?
Daniels is married to fellow adult film star Barrett Blade and the couple live with Daniel’s daughter and their horses on a ranch.
Daniels is also the host of For the Love of DILFs and works as a director of adult and mainstream films.
