Even Renée has a soft spot for the character. “I love her. I just think she’s so much fun. She’s the best,” Renée revealed during an interview with Vanity Fair.
When asked by the magazine if she’s open to revisiting the iconic character, Renée shared that she’s super keen.
“It would be fun, yeah,” she said. “Man, I’d love the experience of revisiting her.”
Renée last played Bridget Jones in 2016’s Bridget Jones’s Baby.
According to Renée, however, the decision to bring back Bridget isn’t up to her.
“That’s a Helen [Fielding, the author] question, but I hope she would want to. I know she wrote a book, so maybe.”
“I’m always the last to know,” she added.
The Bridget Jones book Renée is referring to, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, sees Bridget back on the dating scene, but in the era of social media and online dating.
