Victoria Beckham might have made a name for herself as a fashion designer but the British Icon is still best known for being part of the beloved pop group, The Spice Girls. Victoria, who was better known as Posh, was in the group with four other women—Melanie Brown (“Scary Spice”), Melanie Chisholm (“Sporty Spice”), Emma Bunton (“Baby Spice”) and Geri Halliwell (“Ginger Spice”).
While they might not be producing our favourite hits anymore, the friendships still run deep, with Victoria even designing one of the Spice Girl member’s wedding dresses.
In an interview with Today with Hoda & Jenna, Mel B told the hosts that Victoria designed her wedding dress for her upcoming nuptials to Rory McPhee.
“Victoria actually designed my dress and my mom’s dress,” the America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League said, “It’s such a beautiful honor to get.”
While Mel B didn’t reveal any specific details around the look, she did admit that she probably won’t be sticking to just one look.
I don’t think it would be fair to just have one [wedding dress],” Mel B said. “I’m going to really go for it. One to actually get married in, which is the proper ceremony, and then maybe I want to change out of that and be a bit…I actually don’t know!”
Mel B also revealed that she will be getting married at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London—the same place that Princess Diana and King Charles III tied the knot.
This piece of historical information is actually behind Mel B’s chosen locale.
“‘Cause I have an MBE [Member of the Order of the British Empire],” she siad. “I got an MBE for all my charity work that I’ve been doing and creating awareness for all that kind of stuff. And it was actually Prince William that gave me my honorary badge. It’s quite a big deal.”
She continued, “So, because of that, I am going to get married in the same church as Princess Diana.”
Mel revealed the romantic way her fiancé proposed on an episode of Celebrity Gogglebox, where she told the story.
“There were rose petals everywhere, a log fire, a hotel — which was Cliveden. It was very romantic. I love flowers,” she said. “‘I love you, you’re my best friend and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. “
We can’t wait to see what Victoria designs her for the wedding.
