Then came the news that Prince William pulled out of a memorial service for his godfather, the late King Constantine of Greece, citing an urgent matter.

It is believed that Prince William had made his apologies to his family before withdrawing from the engagement, where he was due to give a speech.

Safe to say that all eyes were then on Kate Middleton, who has been recuperating from her surgery in recent weeks, having not made a public appearance since Christmas.

The Princes’ move sparked concerns for her welfare, with royal watchers wondering if maybe the ‘urgent’ matter involved a complication or issue with her condition.

However, Kensington Palace has since released a snap statement, sharing that Catherine, Princess of Wales, is “doing well” despite the Princes’ movements.

The palace has remained tight lipped about the Princess’ recovery, saying that they would only share updates when necessary, protecting Middleton’s privacy during this time.

Then came the news of the premature passing of Thomas Kingston, husband to Lady Gabriella Windsor. Whether or not Prince William’s decision to pull out of his godfather’s memorial service to mourn Kingston, who was just 45 years old, remains to be known.

No details on his passing have been given but it is understood it is not being treated as suspicious.

“It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas Kingston, our beloved husband, son and brother,” read a statement from his immediate family. “Tom was an exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him. His death has come as a great shock to the whole family and we ask you to respect our privacy as we mourn his passing.”
