RuPaul’s Drag Race star, Jiggly Caliente, has tragically died following surgery to amputate their leg.
The drag queen, whose real name is Bianca Castro-Arabejo, passed away on April 27th just days after her family revealed she was undergoing an amputation due to a “severe infection”.
The news of the passing came via the family, sharing a message to the performer’s social media account.
“Bianca passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at 4:42am, surrounded by her loving family and close friends,” they wrote in the statement.
“A luminous presence in the worlds of entertainment and advocacy, Jiggly Caliente was celebrated for her infectious energy, fierce wit, and unwavering authenticity.
“She touched countless lives through her artistry, activism, and the genuine connection she fostered with fans around the world.
Castro-Arabejo rose to fame on season four of the reality series, RuPaul’s Drag Race. Caliente went on to appear in season six’s All Stars edition and was set to appear in upcoming spin off, Drag Race Philippines, as a judge.
Producers of the show have also released a comment following the star’s passing, sharing that they’re “devastated” before asking for the family to have space to grieve.
“Jiggly’s humour, love, and light touched so many in the Drag Race family and beyond. Her legacy will continue to uplift the communities she advocated for,” the statement read.
Friends and co-stars have also begun to share their grief and memories of the drag queen.
RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage took to Instagram, writing: ““My jiggles …. The laughter was endless, our talks were special, your energy was contagious.
“You were and remain so very loved. This world has lost an angel and we want you to soar high ….. I love you so much honey.”
