Police have found two toddlers locked inside a tiny wooden box after receiving an anonymous tip-off in Aparecidinha, Brazil.
The Sun reports, the three-year-old twin boys were locked in a small crate, secured by a padlock and chain. It was divided in two so they couldn’t touch each other.
Police released a photo of how they found the boys, before taking them to a shelter and arresting their parents.
Police captain Sonimarcos told reporters: “The parents said they kept the boys in the box so they could carry out their tasks in the home and in the fields.”
“Without toys, without a pillow and without any comfort.”
Sonimarcos confirmed the twins didn’t show any signs of physical violence.
