A 17-year-old girl in Brazil has tragically lost her life after being electrocuted while charging her mobile phone.
Luiza Pinheiro body was found on the floor by a relative at about 5pm on Sunday with her headphones reportedly ‘melted in her ears’. According to The Mirror, the student was rushed to hospital but doctors were unable to revive her.
Although the teenager’s cause of death is still under investigation, her phone had been destroyed by an electic charge and had been plugged into a charger at the time.
“The girl’s grandmother told the doctor that they found her granddaughter unconscious, lying on the floor and with headphones in her ears,” a hospital spokesman told local media, Mail Online reports.
“They said they believe that the young woman had an electric shock because the cell phone was charging and the phone was melted.
“The relatives said that the girl had received a shock, but the causes of death will still be confirmed.”
The spokesman added that there had recently been a lightning storm.
