Tributes have poured in for a one-year-old northern New South Wales girl who was mauled by a dog on Saturday.
Inverell girl Kamillah was critically injured after she was attacked by a Rottweiler while visiting her grandmother who was moving house at the time.
As The Sydney Morning Herald reports, paramedics arrived at 2.20pm and began to treat the little girl but she tragically died on the way to the hospital.
Kamillah’s aunt, Ida Boney, said that she was being pushed in a pram by her mother at the time of the horror attack.
“There are no words to describe a scene where a mother is fighting with every ounce of her being to save her baby girl,” Ms Boney wrote on social media.
“The dog in question cleared a fenced yard (someone else’s dog not our family’s). I really don’t care what the breed of dog it [sic] was.
“Our family have lost our baby girl who never got a chance to live her life.”
Police have not yet confirmed if the Rottweiler belonged to the girl’s family.
As Nine News reports, Kamillah has been remembered by family and friends as an “adored” baby.
“Little Kamillah’s passing was so unexpected and a tragic accident,” a friend wrote on the family’s GoFundMe page.
“We would love to be able to give little Kamillah the goodbye she deserves. She was loved and adored by so many.”
Another friend added: “Such a sad, sad loss of such a beautiful baby”.
