A British judge slammed disgraced man Arthur Collins during court and referred to him as a โdespicable liarโ before he was given a 20-year sentence over the April 17 acid attack that scarred members of the public for life.
The 25-year-old, who is the former partner of The Only Way Is Essex star Ferne McCann, claimed the attack was a โstupid little mistakeโ as his lawyer said he โfeels as if the entire world has turned against himโ.
According to The Sun, during the hearing, Collins winked at his family who called back โlove you Arthurโ while he was transferred from the dock at Wood Green Crown Court to begin his jail time.
While Collins was given two-decades behind the bars, the court confirmed heโd also receive an extended five years on licence. The Judge who made the final decision โ Noel Lucas QC โ said Collins was โan accomplished and calculating liarโ who has not โdemonstrated the slightest remorseโ.
The judge also noted that the guilty man had purposely taken strong acid to the nightclub โto use when the need arisedโ.
โThe conclusion I have come to is that you deliberately carried strong acid into that club to use when the need arised. The CCTV showed the wholly cowardly nature of the attack,โ said Judge Lucas.
