Walton Goggins’ ‘SNL’ Comments Fuel Aimee Lou Wood Feud Rumours

Don't break our hearts again

Just days ago The White Lotus fans were swooning over Walton Goggins’ tribute to co-star and onscreen “forever” love, Aimee Lou Wood.

The couple played ill-fated lovers, Rick and Chelsea on the HBO drama and quickly became two of the show’s most beloved characters for season three.

Since then, the tides have changed, with eagle-eyed fans becoming convinced the actors are actually feuding. Now, Goggins has further fuelled feud rumours following an upsetting and “mean” SNL skit that took aim at Wood’s appearance.

Below, we unpack the feud rumours, the posts, the (potentially non-existent) drama, below.

Walton Goggins Comments On SNL Skit

Over the weekend, Saturday Night Live (SNL) aired a White Lotus-themed skit called The White POTUS where they paradied political figures through characters on the show. The only character not linked to a politician however was Chelsea, played by Wood. The skit took aim at her appearance, namely her teeth, and led to Wood calling out the “mean” behaviour.

According to Page Six, the actor left a comment on the SNL Instagram account, writing: “Hahahahahhahaha Amazzzingggg” before re-sharing the clip to his Instagram Stories.

Naturally, this doesn’t bode well for rumours of rift between the two. However, it’s worth noting these comments were posted immediately after the episode aired, perhaps before he knew how his co-star felt about the particular skit.

So where did these rumours begin, anyway?

Are Walton Goggin & Aimee Lou Wood Feuding?

Rumours began on a reddit thread (of course) shortly after the season three finale, where one user pointed out that the actors had recently unfollowed one another on Instagram.

“Walton posts White Lotus stuff and tags everyone in the photos except Aimee Lou Wood, posts a whole tribute to White Lotus and still doesn’t tag her, posts tons of pictures of her on his story in a commemorative tribute to the show. What happened?” the Redditor wrote.

The post in question features a number of White Lotus stars including Michelle Monoghan and Parker Posey, all of whom are tagged…except for Wood, who also appears.

“Walton Goggins not tagging Aimee but tagging everyone else… WHAT HAPPENED,” another fan wrote on X.

If we’re honest, it’s not a reassuring sign, but it’s also a minute detail that could have a myriad of reasons behind it.

It’s also worth noting that Wood still follows her co-star’s business page, Walton Goggins Goggle Glasses. Then, there’s also the matter of their gushing instagram posts just days prior to this revelation…

Walton Goggins’ Dedication To Aimee Lou Wood Post-Finale

Walton Goggins had us crying all over again with his post-season three finale dedication to his and Aimee Lou Wood’s characters, Rick & Chelsea.

Sharing multiple pictures of himself and Wood together, on set and behind the scenes, Goggins’ tribute was heart wrenching for fans.

“Rick + Chelsea. With the heaviest of hearts… To me, ours was a love story. It was only ever a love story, hindered by unresolved, childhood trauma. We all have them… but can we move past them?” he wrote on Monday.

“In the depths of our despair there is always beauty around us. If we can sit with our pain, just sit with it… not react… not be defined by it…It’s there… the love the world is constantly giving in any given moment is there. Always waiting for us to see it… Trust me I know.”

Not exactly ‘feud’ material, if you ask us.

Jason Isaacs Hints At White Lotus Cast Feuds

There was plenty of discussion from the cast about how close they all became while filming in Thailand, but one comment from Jason Isaacs, who plays Timothy Ratliff, hinted otherwise.

When asked about his experience filming, Isaacs called the latest season “a cross between summer camp and Lord of the Flies but in a gilded cage”.

But is was his comments about fellow castmates that really set off some red flags.

“Some people got very close, there were friendships that were made and friendships that were lost,” he told Vulture.

He went on to add: “All the things you would imagine with a group of people unanchored from their home lives on the other side of the world, in the intense pressure cooker of the working environment with eye-melting heat and insects and late nights.

“They say in the show, ‘What happens in Thailand stays in Thailand,’ but there’s an off-screen White Lotus as well, with fewer deaths but just as much drama.”

Could he be referring to Wood and Goggins? We’ll probably never know.
