Attention Royal Enthusiasts, A Documentary On Princess Diana’s Infamous BBC Interview Is On The Way

It's set to deep dive into the tell-all, her marriage to Charles and much more

Whether you’re an aficionado for all things Royal family or not, most of the world is well aware of Princess Diana’s infamous 1995 interview with Martin Bashir.

And despite the unforgettable BBC Panorama interview nearing its 26-year anniversary, the issues that the former royal shared with viewers—that saw Prince William break down in tears—have never felt more relevant, especially following Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s emotional interview with Oprah on March 8.

Earlier this month, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex finally spoke up about the downfalls of the royal family, eerily similar to the heartache his own mother endured all those years ago.

And while it certainly feels like a timely coincidence, a new documentary on Diana’s tell-all interview is headed to our screens, called The Diana Interview: Revenge Of A Princess.

Delivering the royal family another public blow, the documentary will examine how the historic BBC interview came into existence, Diana’s revelations about her marriage to Charles, his infidelity and the heartbreaking reality of her struggle with mental health. The film is also set to include interviews with those who bore witness to the breakdown of her marriage and plans to spotlight never-before-seen documents and footage from the original interview itself.

According to Variety, Channel Nine is set to air the two-part special in Australia, and while there is no official release date, the publication has confirmed that the explosive documentary will likely hit our screens sometime this year.

In the most recent ex-royals interview, the family have faced allegations that they had “concerns” over Archie’s skin colour and how they dismissed Meghan’s pleas for help during her struggle with her mental health, to name a few.

However, in addition to those claims, the palace is currently still dealing with Prince Andrew’s controversial relationship with convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.
