Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s whirlwind wedding finally unfolded in New York City in July, with the couple marrying in spectacular style at none other than Madison Square Garden. The NYC affair became an instant cultural touchstone, as media outlets and Swifties alike scoured for any tiny morsel or detail on what unfolded inside the venue, to no avail.
Now, a month on, the groom himself, Travis Kelce, has finally spoken about his wedding day. And yes, it will melt your heart.
Speaking with press while at a Kansas City Chiefs training camp, Kelce revealed: “The wedding was the best night of my life.
“I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and had fun with us … It was a crazy night.”
Considering the details we do know – Adam Sandler acting as the couple’s officiant, the celebrity guest list spanning Gigi Hadid to Sir Paul McCartney and the very late hour many were seen leaving… “crazy” feels like an apt description.
The NFL star also revealed the venue choice wasn’t chosen for privacy alone, but as a nod to a childhood dream.
“It was kind of cool to live out my childhood dream to be in that venue,” he said. “I can’t thank the owners of MSG enough for allowing us the opportunity to do that, knowing we wanted a private event.”
“I always told myself I’d go for a playoff game when the Knicks were rocking, and my wife went when I was stuck in mini-camp,” Kelce added.
All eyes were on the venue for weeks before the wedding, as speculation swiftly became confirmation with a slew of celebrity guests arriving on July 3rd for a rehearsal dinner.

A public declaration of the couple’s nuptials came in an unexpected manner the following day: giant electronic billboards outside the venue lighting up with the phrase ‘JUST&T MARRIED’.
The news of Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce’s wedding was then also confirmed by a rep for Swift to People.
“The bride and groom’s wedding ceremony looks have been created by Christian Dior Haute Couture. They are designed by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior Women’s, Men’s and Haute Couture Collections, in close collaboration with the Bride and Groom. This is the designer’s first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity. Their shoes were custom made by Christian Louboutin and the bride wore Cartier jewelry,” says the statement.
“Taylor & Travis did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, her brother Austin Swift served as Taylor’s Man of Honor and Jason Kelce was Travis’ Best Man. The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friend Adam Sandler.”

Taylor and Travis’ relationship started, fittingly, with a friendship bracelet. Kelce first revealed on his New Heights podcast that he’d hoped to give Swift a bracelet with his number on it after attending her Eras Tour show in Kansas City in July 2023 — but didn’t get the chance to meet her. The comments went viral, and speculation about a budding romance began almost immediately.
By September 2023, Swift was spotted in the stands at Arrowhead Stadium, and the pair’s relationship played out in real time over the following months, largely on Kelce’s own turf: NFL games, podcast shoutouts, and increasingly public appearances. The relationship’s first major turning point came in November 2023, when Kelce flew to Buenos Aires to watch Swift perform on her Eras Tour. She responded by tweaking the lyrics of her song “Karma” mid-performance, swapping a (alleged) reference to ex, Joe Alwyn, for a nod to her new “guy on the Chiefs.” The pair were then photographed sharing a passionate embrace backstage.
From there, the relationship moved from rumour to hard launch, with the couple attending the Saturday Night Live afterparty together in October 2023, holding hands for cameras for the first time.
Over the next two years, their romance became one of the most closely tracked in pop culture, spanning Super Bowl appearances, family Christmases, and international travel, before Kelce popped the question in August of 2025.
Swift announced her engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight end in a joint Instagram post on August 26. The caption read: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨.”
