Blondes Unite, Taylor Swift Set To Star Alongside Anya Taylor-Joy And Margot Robbie In New Film

Our wildest dreams have come true

Come 2021, reunions of iconic celebrities are becoming more and more common (Think: the revival of’00s favourites, Bennifer). And while said couplings have seen old favourites reunite once more, there’s even been a surge of new, unlikely famous faces coming together for a project set to remain in the cultural zeitgeist for years to come.

This time, three of the world’s most recognisable blondes are working together, and we can hardly wait.

Heading back to the big screen, Taylor Swift is set to revisit her acting roots in a new period film by David O. Russell, starring alongside the likes of Margot Robbie and Anya Taylor-Joy, as per The Hollywood Reporter.

While the flick’s plot is currently being kept under wraps, Swift’s involvement was initially hinted at by celebrity gossip account Deuxmoi, and has now been confirmed by multiple outlets, according to Collider.

Currently, no release date has been announced, however, the star-studded lineup is enough to pique interest until more information comes out. Joining Swift, Robbie, and Taylor-Joy onscreen, the film is also set to star Christian Bale, John David Washington, Rami Malek, Zoe Saldana, Chris Rock, Mike Myers, Robert De Niro, to name a few.

Making her film debut back in 2010 rom-com Valentine’s Day, Swift has since appeared as the voice of Audrey in The Lorax, alongside Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges in The Giver and most recently, in 2019’s Cats, which earned significant criticism. But despite her past work, Swift’s fans have taken to the internet to share their excitement over the trios onscreen presence, providing hope that an impressive film is headed our way.

Whether or not O. Russell’s period flick will be of the same disappointing calibre of Cats is yet to be determined, but with a cast including Swift, Taylor-Joy and Robbie, it’s bound to be impressive.
