Katie Holmes tries her best to keep daughter Suri Cruise out of the media spotlight. But, the soon-to-be thirteen-year-old does sometimes make a rare appearance on her famous mum’s social media accounts. On Saturday morning, Holmes posted a black-and-white photo of her daughter from their time at the Moria Refugee Camp, in Greece.
In the photo, Suri high-fives a young child from the camp, and her mother accompanied the image with a series of hearts. The mother-daughter pair spent the week in Greece working with children and women living at the camp, which is located on the island of Lesbos.

Throughout the week, Holmes shared several photos of her work at the camp, including a series of photos showing her making art with the women there.
In another photo, Holmes is seen being filmed by someone with a camera capturing her artwork. “I love these women who became our friends as we collaborated on many different projects this week,” she wrote. “I am so very grateful for this experience. The resilience of these women is so profound and truly inspiring to witness. and I pray for refugees everywhere.”
The Moria Refugee camp came under fire last year when The New York Times released a report about the poor living conditions at the facilities. The Times reported in October 2018 that refugees, who are mostly Syrian, Iraqi and Afghan, waited in line for as long as 12 hours to receive food that was already mouldy.
“I have to say that Moria is the camp in which I’ve seen the highest level of suffering”, Louise Roland-Gosselin, head of mission in Greece for Doctors Without Borders, told the Times.
