Princess Anne has been hospitalised, Buckingham Palace revealed in a statement overnight.
The Princess Royalโwho is the younger sister of King Charles III, and Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillipโs only daughterโis being cared for at Southmead Hospital in Bristol after sustaining โminor injuries and concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate [Sunday] evening.โ
The palace explained that Anneโs hospitalisation is โa precautionary measure for observation,โ and that she โis expected to make a full and swift recovery.โ
It was also noted that Charles โhas been kept closely informed and joins the whole royal family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to the princess for a speedy recovery.โ
Her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, reportedly accompanied her to hospital and her two children, Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall, were understood to have been on the estate at the time.

While the palace did not provide details on what caused Anneโs injuries, multiple outlets have reported that it is thought to be horse riding accident.
The 73-year-oldโs hospitalisation comes after a year of medical news from the royal family. Earlier this year, King Charles and Catherine, the Princess of Wales both went on medical leave following their respective cancer diagnoses.
While both have partially returned to the public eye now, in their absence, Anne stepped up, partaking in 172 engagements from just January to April of this year alone. Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of Yorkโthe ex-wife of Anneโs younger brother, Prince Andrewโalso revealed a skin cancer diagnosis back in January.
