Everyone thought they were honeymooning in Namibia, but it seems Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have cancelled those plans (apparently due to a security threat) and will spend their holiday in Canada instead.
According to TMZ’s sources, the royal newlyweds will stay at the ultra-luxe Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Jasper National Park, Alberta. Somehow, TMZ’s sources are in on every detail of the couple’s honeymoon plans, revealing they’ve booked the resort’s exclusive Outlook Cabin for their stay.
The Outlook Cabin, marie claire US tells us, sets you back a cool $US6818 a night (that’s an eye-watering $9503 in Australian dollaroos). And it looks a little something like this:
If Prince Harry and Meghan Markle do choose to stay there, they won’t be the first royals to do so: Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge has previously hosted King George VI and the Queen Mother in 1939, plus Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip stayed there in 2005.
The royal couple know Canada well – not only did they meet there, they spent many of their early dates in Toronto in secret, while Meghan was still filming Suits.
