Netflix’s newest dating show, Love Is Blind, has quickly become a viral sensation. The series follows a group of strangers who meet each other through “pods”, not knowing what each other looks like. The premise is to find true love without ever having seen the person you’re dating – proving the ethos is love truly blind?

Besides the drama that comes with marrying a stranger, one contestant has sparked Twitter to ask a whole lot of questions.

34-year-old Jessica Batten.

Viewers were quick to spot that Jessica sports two different voices – one when she is talking to prospective male partners and the other when she is talking to anyone else.

“No one knows I’m in Mexico,” Jessica says in a straight-to-camera confessional, her voice deep and full. “It’s tripping me out!”

The show then cuts back to her little spooning into her fiance Mark’s arms.

“I love hearing the waves crash on the beach,” she tells him, her voice now like that of a young child, “sexy baby” as the Internet has branded it. “That’s, like, my favourite thing in the world.”

Well, everyone noticed. And was very, very confused.

Jessica also gained some attention earlier in the season when she nonchalantly gave her dog Peyton a glass of red wine. She then whispers, “she loves wine” as if it’s the most normal thing in the world.
