Nadia Bartel Opens Up About The Challenges Of Being A Single Parent

"It's been a bit of a juggle"

In her first television interview since confirming she’d split from her husband Jimmy last month, Nadia Bartel has opened up about her new life as a single mum, revealing it’s been a struggle to adjust to the sudden change.

“Yeah, it’s so hectic. I’m juggling it all but I’m so lucky I’ve got such a supportive family and friends around me,” the popular media personality told Ryan Phelan and Kylie Gillies on The Morning Show.

“So mum and dad and my sister and brother and then their wife and husband do a lot for the boys,” said the 34-year-old who has two beautiful children with her former AFL playing ex-husband.

“It’s been a bit of a juggle but we’ll get there in the end.”

Her thoughtful comments come days after Nadia’s sister, Michelle Ring appeared to make a subtle dig at Jimmy by sharing an Instagram meme that read: “Nadia Bartel on her way to Jimmy Bartel’s funeral, aka the Brownlow Awards! Now THIS is how you do a revenge body.” The savage dig was accompanied by a picture of the TV presenter glammed up ahead of her appearance at the prestigious ceremony— which marked Nadia’s first solo public outing since calling time on her five-year marriage.

Earlier this month, Jimmy opened up about the breakdown of their marriage on 3AW’s pre-match coverage, admitting that the situation is “not great”.

“I am probably not going to provide any commentary on it,” the retired footy player said. “I know I am in the public eye and people are interested, but it is a private matter and I ask for a bit of respect because obviously Nadia and the boys [are] involved. Less than a week later, Nadia broke her silence. Speaking to the Herald Sun, the “heartbroken” star— who shares sons Aston, 3, and Henley, nine months with Jimmy— said she’s having a “difficult” time coming to terms with their separation.

“Although I’m heartbroken, I don’t want to comment specifically on what’s been reported about Jim’s trip to the UK as I don’t think that is in anyone’s interests,” Nadia told the Heral Sun.

“My single focus now is to continue to protect, care and provide for my two beautiful boys as this is a personal matter.”
