It appears Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter’s summer romance was just that. The two, who were first romantically following Cyrus’ separation announcement from Liam Hemsworth in August, have reportedly ended their relationship after six weeks of dating.
Despite travelling to New York Fashion Week together earlier this month and rumours that they had moved in together in LA, People is reporting that the singer and reality TV star have gone back to just being friends with a source telling the publication, “Miley and Kaitlynn broke up.”
“They’ve been friends forever and were there for each other when they were both getting separated,” the source continued, saying that “they’re just not in a romantic relationship anymore.”
Kaitlynn split from her husband of a year and The Hills: New Beginnings co-star, Brody Jenner, in early August – a week before Miley and Liam went public with their split. Shortly after, Miley and Kaitlynn took a holiday to Italy, where they were spotted kissing.
Liam Hemsworth filed for divorce a week later citing “irreconcilable differences,” something which reportedly took Miley by surprise (Liam was apparently also surprised about the split, with sources saying the actor found out it a statement had been released through social media).
