Miley Cyrus’ split from Liam Hemsworth was made all the more messy with the addition of Brody Jenner’s ex-wife Kaitlynn Carter, who was pictured kissing the singer just hours before the news of her separation broke. At the time, it was reported that Miley and Kaitlynn – who also just separated from her husband – were just having fun while on holiday, but now that the pair is back in Los Angeles, it appears things are getting more serious.
“Miley and Kaitlynn are on the same page,” a source told Us Weekly of the new relationship, “which is why they work so well together.”
Miley even brought Kaitlynn to her MTV VMAs performance, where she sang her new song Slide Away – which is thought to be about Liam – for the first time live. The two then went to an after party, however, Us Weekly‘s source notes that they are equally as happy spending time alone together at home.
“They’re just as happy doing low-key things together, like staying and watching a movie,” they said.
Last week, it was reported that Miley’s new romance was the reason Liam decided to officially file for divorce. The images also reportedly prompted Liam’s family to step in and advise him to end the marriage for good with a source telling Us Weekly that the 29-year-old comes from a “very conservative family” and that they were “freaked out by it.”
Liam filed for divorce because Miley was “being so open about her relationship with Kaitlynn Carter,” the source said. “He thought they could work it out, but all those pictures of her and Kaitlynn ended that.”
