Last week, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were surprisingly candid in admitting the pressure they’ve been under since they married and the impact the negativity and scrutiny has had on their mental health.

“Any woman, especially when they’re pregnant, you’re really vulnerable. So, that was made really challenging. And, then when you have a newborn, and especially as a woman, it’s a lot. So, you add this on top of just trying to be a new mum or trying to be a newlywed,” Meghan said during an interview for the couple’s documentary, Harry & Meghan: An African Journey.

Now, the Duchess of Sussex’s close friend and makeup artist, Daniel Martin, has done an interview of his own, opening up about how Meghan is coping and saying the 38-year-old has “a lot on her plate.”

When asked if he thinks Meghan is a “weak person,” Martin firmly replied, “Not at all,” before continuing on to say, “I feel like she has a lot on her plate and I feel like she just wants to make sure her boys are safe.”

“I know her, she’s gonna totally take care of this. It’s just understanding the ways about it.”

As far as Meghan’s inner circle goes, they have mostly kept their cards close to their chest since she joined the royal family. Her best friend, stylist Jessica Mulroney, spoke out for the first time in August, calling the ongoing criticism “racist bullying.”

“When someone faces unfair criticism, you call it out. When that person is your friend and your family, you call those critics what they truly are. Shame on you, you racist bullies,” she wrote on Instagram.
