Martha Kalifatidis and TV husband Michael Brunelli might be one of this years Married At First Sight poster couples, but it seems the couple have called it quits – with Martha rebounding with co-star Sam Ball.
The pair were spotted enjoying a date in Byron Bay, where Sam has been living, NW reports. According to a source, Sam, 26, and 30-year-old Martha “only had eyes for each other” while out. A second source tells NW that they also spotted the twosome on a date in Sydney in late February, where they acted very much like a couple.
“Even though they were doing their best to fly under the radar, at one point Martha got up and sat on Sam’s lap,” said the onlooker. “They were being really affectionate with one another.”
In February, Sam spoke to E! News about the rumours he was with Martha. When asked directly about the photos circulating, Sam told the publication, “I think Martha is a beautiful person, but, you know, she’s quite happy in her relationship, and I wouldn’t want to intrude on that.”
“I thought a couple of the girls looked good, but I would never intrude on anyone—especially Michael and Martha’s relationship,” he said. “They looked very happy, and why would I want to go and ruin that?”
However, last week more photos surfaced of Martha getting cosy with her ex-boyfriend, Arthur Manidis, in Sydney on St Patrick’s Day earlier this month. In recent weeks the Sydney-based make-up artist has been hit by a slew of allegations that her feelings for Michael aren’t genuine and that she plans on dumping the Melbourne P.E. teacher after the current season of MAFS wraps.
Following the homestays, Michael’s brother Christain told Who Magazine: “I know that they are still together.”
During an appearance on channel nine’s Talking Married Martha opened up about the first time she said “I love you” to her husband. “I texted you,” the MAFS star reminded her husband. “I said it in a text. We were in bed.”
The 30-year-old also shared, “I thought he was 10 years younger than me!”
“But honestly, he just had this really kind energy. I was actually really scared to ask Michael how old he was. [He had] these really kind eyes. And he was smiling. He was lovely.”
