At Married At First Sight’s Sunday night reunion dinner party, bride Martha Kalifatidis made controversial comments about her current living situation that has angered fans.
The freelance make-up artist sparked outrage on the Channel Nine social experiment when she poured a glass of wine over co-star Cyrell’s head during the explosive final dinner party. However, it was also Martha’s comments about how she’s living that angered fans more.
“I don’t know how I keep still getting money,” fellow controversial bride Jessika told Martha.
Martha responded: “Me either, somehow it manages to just find its way into my account.”
Joking about her financial status, Jessika added: “Yeah, my dad is like, ‘Do you need five grand?’ and I’m like, ‘Yes, daddy’.”
Speaking to Kyle & Jackie O on Monday morning, Martha attempted to justify her statement.
“That reunion was filmed literally during the Christmas break and I didn’t go back to work,” she said. “I do work and I don’t rely on my parents.”
The controversial contestant told the KIIS FM hosts she was too scared to go back to work as a freelance make-up artist.
“I don’t want to be just turning up to people’s houses,” she said. “I don’t feel safe at the moment, I really don’t. I don’t know who I can trust.
“I did ask to go back to my old job, which was at a retailer, but it was too much of a liability for them.”
For now, Martha has returned to her parents home in Melbourne.
