Make no bones about it, Elizabeth Sobinoff was humiliated by her first “husband” Sam Ball on Married At First Sight last year, but the girl needs to get over it.

On Tuesday’s episode, Lizzie continues to be haunted by the ghost of the bearded builder in every little thing that her second husband, Sebastian, does.

The flashbacks start with Seb’s decision to take Lizzie strawberry picking as a surprise date on their honeymoon to Port Macquarie.

And while the delicious little red fruit can act as a aphrodisiac for some, for Lizzie it triggers a “traumatic” memory – the time Sam aeroplaned chocolate covered strawberries into her mouth and somewhere along the lines she ended up sucking his finger.

“I haven’t looked at a strawberry the same way since that happened,” Lizzie said (neither have we, hun).

“The strawberry picking really backfired,” Seb said.

Next up on Lizzie’s long list of triggering words was when Seb joked she was a “cheat” during a flirty game of ball toss.

It led to the retail manager reminiscing about Ines Basic and Sam’s raunchy overnight hook-up behind her back.

“Things keep happening that take me back to bad memories,” she said.

“People in [last year’s] experiment just wanted to hurt me.”

Feeling like Lizzie had been holding back, Seb tells her: “I can see myself falling in love with you.”

“That is nice to hear,” she replies two days after they first met.

Finally opening up, she adds: “I have never been in love. I have a real hard time believing someone could care for me that much.”

Seb replied: “It’s scary at first, but I am someone you can eventually trust. I love so much about you already.”

Speaking to the camera, Lizzie adds: “It feels different with Seb than it did with Sam. This is the honeymoon I deserved last year but with a better person.”

While things are finally on the up for Lizzie, it’s almost over and out for Mishel and Steve.

After Mishel kindly helped the aggy Brit confront one of his biggest fears (the sea) he repayed the favour by sitting her down on the shore and dropping this bombshell: “I’m not attracted to you physically yet. I can’t force it if it’s not there, but I hope I can turn things around.” (We’re getting serious Mike Gunner vibes!)

“We’ve been here six weeks, any decent person would have told you by now that they are not into you,” a devastated Mishel said in a piece to camera.

It’s like Mishel is turning into this year’s Lizzie. Run for the hills, girl, and stay well away from strawberries!
