Gigi Hadid has an Instagram account dedicated to her film photos, which, by the way, is filled with candid pics of Reese Witherspoon and J Lo, Cole Sprouse has one where he paps fans even better than they get him and Sophie Turner has one just for sausages, but Australian actress Margot Robbie’s secret social media account served a different purpose: stalking conservatives.

For her latest role as Fox News anchor, Kayla, in Bombshell, Margot Robbie turned to Twitter to research her character by following all of the conservative American women she could find.
Though Nicole Kidman and Charlize Theron play real women – former Fox News identities Gretchen Carlson and Megyn Kelly – Margot’s character Kayla is an composite of various different women who accused Roger Ailes (played by John Lithgow) of sexual harassment, a “chirpy conservative news junkie” who lives and breathes all things Fox.
“Kayla is an amalgamation of many women’s stories, and some of the specifics you see in scenes with her are taken from real-life interactions those women experienced,” Margot told Entertainment Weekly, revealing that because she grew up in Australia, she needed to do extra research to really understand her character.
“I didn’t grow up watching Fox News, and I didn’t grow up in the same place as [Kayla]… I was struggling to understand that point of view for a while, and Twitter ended up being the most useful tool,” she explained. “Because people are extremely vocal on Twitter.”
“The homework part was difficult,” she continued. “But the emotional side was difficult in a different kind of way.”
Speaking of workplace sexual misconduct, Margot, who has been a vocal supporter of the #MeToo movement, said that Bombshell opened her eyes to how difficult it can be to identify, even for victims themselves: “I felt like I’ve done nothing but talk about sexual harassment in the workplace, and I thought that I had a pretty comprehensive understanding,” she said.
