Beloved actress Mandy Moore has announced that soon, she’ll be a mother to two boys. She and her musician husband Taylor Goldsmith are expecting another baby later this year.
The couple have been married since 2018, and welcomed their first son Gus into the world 15 months ago.
“One incredibly seminal chapter of my life just ended and the next one, as a mother of two, is about to start… and are we ever so deeply grateful and excited. Baby Boy Goldsmith #2 coming this fall!” she announced on Instagram, underneath a photo of Gus wearing a big brother t-shirt.
“Tour is gonna be slightly different than I expected but I can’t wait and Gus is gonna be the BEST big brother!!” the post continued. Moore is scheduled to embark on music tour beginning June 10, to promote her new album, In Real Life.
“There’s a good chance I’m the happiest, luckiest person you know (or just follow) and now we’re gonna double it,” Goldsmith added in his own post.
Speaking to Parents magazine in November last year, Moore revealed that she felt a sense of shame when parenthood came easy to her husband, while she felt ‘clumsy and awkward.’
“Everything he did seemed easy. He could get Gus to go to sleep like that, to laugh like that, whereas I felt clumsy and awkward. I felt a lot of shame and a lot of guilt,” she told the outlet.
But, parenthood moves at a hundred miles an hour, and it wasn’t long before Moore was the new favourite.
“Suddenly, we glided into a new phase and Gus preferred me to my husband,” the actress revealed revealed. “And it’s going to change again. It’s a rollercoaster.”
After starring in the hit series This Is Us for six seasons, Moore has finally bid farewell to the show and is now thinking about what her next chapter looks like (both inside and outside of motherhood).
“I’m excited to be a mom for a minute, then figure out what I wanna do after that,” she told Entertainment Tonight last week. She reflected that she had been pregnant with Gus “all throughout the fifth season and then I went back to work when he was a month old.”
There’s no surprise then, that she’s looking forward to focus on her expanding family for the foreseeable future before deciding on the next chapter. Congratulations, Mandy!
