Lady Gaga Finally Discussed Her Intimate Oscars Performance With Bradley Cooper

"Nothing could be more special"

In case you missed it, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper nearly broke the Internet following their very intimate performance of ‘Shallow’ at the Oscars. Now, Gaga has finally addressed her duet with her A Star Is Born costar and director on Twitter and Instagram.

“Nothing could be more special than sharing this moment at the Oscars with a true friend and artistic genius.”

At the 91st Academy Awards, Gaga won the Oscar for Best Original Song and gave an emotional nod to Cooper during her acceptance speech. “Bradley, there is not a single person on the planet that could have sung this song with me but you. Thank you for believing in us.”

During a press conference backstage after winning her Oscar, Gaga revealed Cooper gave her some important advice ahead of their performance: “Bradley said to me yesterday, right before we did our last rehearsal for this performance of ‘Shallow’: ‘Let’s just drop a little bit of joy.’ And I said, ‘Okay.’ And it turns out, joy did a lot for me.”

Gaga and Cooper have had an incredible working relationship, with Cooper telling Time, “I love her so deeply. It’s because we were at our most vulnerable together.” Gaga echoed his sentiment during a press conference at the Toronto International Film Festival, revealing, “I don’t know that I’ve ever had a closer artistic relationship than I have had with Bradley, a closer exchange.”
