Franklin told The Daily Telegraph that they were temporarily forced apart for 12 days straight because she got sick. “There was a time earlier this year that I was very unwell and I slept in the spare room for 12 nights straight,” she told the publication.

“I think that was the longest we’ve ever spent apart,” she added. “I was in the spare room but that was from my own admission because I wanted to make sure he didn’t get unwell as there is a risk of him getting the entire [Sydney Swans] team unwell as well. I am nowhere near as bad as that now, it is just a little flu.”

The couple celebrated their second wedding anniversary last November, and while there are no immediate plans to start a family the former Miss Universe Australia says she’s looking forward to being a mum one day.

“We are a married couple so we’d love to start a family,” she said. “But right now we are just really busy with our careers and just enjoying life and whatever happens happens, it’s up to the universe now.”
