In 2023, Harry Connick Junior brought his wife of 30 years, Jill Goodacre Connick, and their three daughters to Australia while he filmed Australian Idol 2023. While Connick Jr. and his wife have since returned to the States, it seems the sunny country made a good impression on their three daughters.
To the surprise of many Australians, Connick Jr has revealed that his daughters Georgia, 28, Kate, 26, and Charlotte,22, are all studying and working in Sydney. The family situation came to light while Connick Jr was doing press for his new romantic comedy Find Me Falling. In a conversation with People Magazine, he said of the situation: “They’re in school and working, and they’re having a good time down there.”

So, what are the girls up to? Georgia, Kate, and Charlotte are creatives like their dad and are involved in photography, acting, and modelling. Georgia is a cinematographer, Kate is an actress and model, and Charlotte is an aspiring artist.
What Made Harry Connick Juniors Daughters Stay?
According to Connick Jr, the girl’s decision to stay (while spending a fair bit of time travelling back and forth between Sydney and the US) was mainly due to Australia’s friendly dispositions. “First and foremost, the people are just incredibly kind and welcoming,” said Connick Jr, based in New Orleans. “It’s a beautiful country. The food down there is among the best in the world. It’s clean air. Just the quality of life is great. The pace is relaxed.”
“They just pursued it and continued to work,” he says, “they love it.”
Connick Jr was just off a trip to visit his kids when he spoke with People. He said he and Goodacre visit their daughters twice yearly even though it’s a long hike for his wife, ex-Victoria’s Secret Model Jill. “My wife likes travelling, but if she can avoid it, she will do it; this is her second time here this year. She absolutely loves it.”
Meanwhile, youngest daughter Charlotte told ABC Radio Sydney is simply “the best.”

Harry Connick Jr. seems connected to his family and has a sweet love story with his wife of 30 years, Jill, whom both have described as “love at first sight.”
The two met in 1990 while Connick Jr was staying in Los Angeles. He told Glamour that Jill had walked past him, and he introduced himself. His first impression? “She had a really strong handshake. If that had been it between us, just that moment, I would have thought about it for the rest of my life.” Goodacre knew it wouldn’t be “it” between the couple. “What’s really funny is that [Hill called her mum that night and said, ‘I met the guy I’m going to marry. Of course, she didn’t let me know,” he told GQ.
Connick Jr says he has learnt a lot living in an all-female household. “I think it’s something you have to study as a man. I’m so lucky to have four women in my immediate family from whom I can gain perspective, be inspired, and learn. I’m in awe of women and everything they endure.”
