Well, there you have it, ladies and gentlemen, everyone’s favourite dating show is officially over for another year with Matt Agnew picking 28-year-old chemical engineer Chelsie McLeod for his final rose. Of course, in the world of The Bachelor, a filmed declaration of love doesn’t always mean the couple is still together when the show airs months later, but in this case, it appears they are.
Taking to Instagram a few hours after the finale, Chelsie posted the first non-Bachelor photo of the two: a selfie taken presumably that night. She captioned it simply, “I love you.”
Matt went the traditional route and posted a photo from the finale night, writing, “This has been an absolutely incredible experience but I found exactly what I was looking for. I love you @chelsiemcleod.” He then posted on Instagram stories showing that he’d followed Chelsie on the app, writing, “Finally.”
Unlike previous Bachelors, Richie and He Who Shall Not Be Named (Okay, Nick Cummins), fans were quick to comment that Matt had picked the right woman. “Yay well done Matt so happy u found and picked the right one,” one person wrote. “Yassss ❤️ so worried you were about to pick the wrong girl so glad Chels was the one 😍😍🌹,” said another, while one joked about the couple’s jobs, writing, “Congratulations Matt! Best wishes with you and Chelsie for a life filled with nerdy happiness!”
Congrats to the nerdy, happy couple. Now, is it Bachelorette time yet?
