Six months ago, Brittany, 35, announced she and Jax, 45, were “taking time apart”. The divorce filing notes the date of separation as January 24.

News of the split comes days after Jax left a mental health treatment facility, with insiders telling People that Jax was looking forward to returning home. “It’s been an emotional month for him and he’s most looking forward to spending time with his son,” representatives from the pair’s reality TV series, The Valley, said in a statement.

Brittany and Jax tied the knot while starring on Vanderpump Rules in June 2019 after dating for around four years. Those who watched Bravo’s The Valley will know that fractures in their relationship were a major plotpoint in season one of the series.

According to Bravo, hey separated four months after filming wrapped.

“Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health,” Brittany announced on their podcast When Reality Hits. “I won’t get into too many details right now because this is still very hard to talk about and I’m taking things one day at a time.”

As for the reason behind their split, Brittany has been open about their struggles as a couple, noting that infidelity was not the cause.

“We just had our issues with fighting with each other,” Brittany told The Daily Dish in March this year. “There wasn’t any infidelity. I know that’s been a rumour going around. It wasn’t anything like that.”

Brittany has sought primary custody of the couple’s son in the divorce, but is “open to visitation for Jax”, TMZ reports.

Neither Brittany nor Jax has commented.
