There’s no denying Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga’s connection is palpable. A source has exclusively told People that the A Star Is Born director feels an “overwhelming” connection to his co-star in the wake of his split with Irina Shayk.
“He has a huge and overwhelming connection to Gaga but whether it becomes a real love story in their lives for all the world to see is premature,” the source told the outlet.
While the film enjoyed great success thanks to the pairing, rumours of a possible romance between them might have played a role in Cooper’s recent split from Shayk. Gaga and Cooper made headlines for their intimate Oscars duet of Shallow which earned the singer an Oscar for Best Original Song.
“The rumours about Bradley and Gaga having a love affair didn’t help especially with his constant travels [promoting the film],” another source told People.

A source admitted that it was ultimately Cooper’s dedication to A Star Is Born that was responsible for their split. “Bradley was emotionally absent during a long time filming A Star Is Born,” the source said. “They tried to save the relationship but it had changed.”
Cooper and Shayk called it quits last week after four years of dating. The couple also shares two-year-old daughter Lea De Seine.
While a rep has confirmed the split, the couple is yet to formally comment. Shayk did, however, post a post-breakup Instagram that made headlines.

Surrounded by lush greenery and a spectacular waterfall, Shayk posed in a black Intimissimi bodysuit (just FYI for those interested, the bodysuit is just $27). While many celebs took to the pic to praise Shayk, one particular like was quickly pointed out – Lady Gaga’s ex Christian Carino.
While it may just be a coincidence, fans couldn’t help but point out the irony in the social media activity.
