Known for her comedic chops in roles like Booksmart and Scream Queens, along with being the daughter of Carrie Fisher and granddaughter of Debbie Reynolds—who both tragically passed away in the space of 24 hours in late 2016—Lourd wed her partner Austen Rydell after five years of dating. The film-producer asked Lourd to marry her in 2020.

The couple, who share two-year-old son Kingston Fisher, were wed in an intimate ceremony in Mexico’s picturesque Cabo San Lucas.

In true Hollywood style, the nuptials drew a large celebrity crowd, including Billie’s father, American talent agent Bryan Lourd, and her American Horror Story co-star Leslie Grossman.

Despite Carrie and Debbie not physically in attendance, they were definitely there in spirit as Billie made sure to honour her late mother and grandmother throughout the day.

Speaking to US VOGUE, Billie revealed that her two custom Rodarte wedding looks had more meaning than meets the eye. You can take a look at the stunning gown here

For starters, Billie’s wedding ring was actually the very same ring Carrie Fisher wore, which Austen had reset. Billie also wore her mother’s favourite blue fire opal ring during the ceremony along with a borrowed ring that was gifted by Carrie to a friend.

But the tribute didn’t end there. Billie also told the publication that her wedding shoes were inspired by heels her mum used to wear in the 90s, and unbeknownst to her at the time, were actually purchased from a boutique Carrie used to frequent.

“In true Carrie fashion, we threw glitter in the air at the end of the ceremony. It was magical. I could not have dreamed up a more perfect wedding,” Billie said.

Later in the evening, after the beach-side ceremony, the bride changed into another custom Rodarte dress. This time, the vintage style was influenced by Billie’s grandmother Debbie Reynolds.

“It was inspired by my glam-ma Debbie Reynolds’s iconic dance outfits that she used to wear in all of her shows and is probably the most fun party outfit of all time,” Billie revealed.

Both Billie and Austen took to social media to share photos from the big day. While Billie opted to simply caption her post with the date the pair tied the knot, Austen wrote “married my best friend this weekend.”
