Asher Keddie might be best known for her beloved roles in Australian television series like Offspring, Strife and Fake but one of the actress’ biggest successes is her family life with her husband, Vincent Fantauzzo and their two children.
Below, we share everything we know about the Logie Award-winning actress’ marriage and family life.
Who Is Vincent Fantauzzo?
Keddie’s husband, Vincent Fantauzzo is a four-time Archibald People’s Choice prize winning artist.
The Irish-Italian artist is best known for his award-winning celebrity portraits, including those of Julia Gillard, Baz Luhrmann and Heath Ledger.
Fantauzzo even has a hotel in Brisbane named after him, where many of his paintings are displayed.
How Did Asher Keddie And Vincent Fantauzzo Meet?
Keddie and Fantauzzo first met in 2012, when Fantauzzo asked his good friend and celebrity chef, Matt Moran if he knew Keddie because he was interested in painting her.
Keddi agreed however when the time to meet came, Fantauzzo was running late and Keddie didn’t have time to wait around.
Luckily, the pair bumped into each other on the street as Keddie was leaving.
“I saw this really kind of chaotic, crazy, incredibly gorgeous guy,” Keddie told the ABC.
“I was walking towards him and I absolutely felt connected on a level I’d never felt connected to anybody in my life.
“No words had been spoken, nothing. I was just drawn to him and I could feel the same coming from him.”
“I had just met my person. We were pretty much together after that,” Fantauzzo said in the same interview.
Two years later, the couple married on Fiji’s Turtle Island.
Asher Keddie and Vincent Fantauzzo’s Children
Keddie and Fantauzzo share two children—Luca, from Fantauzzo’s previous marriage to a woman named Michelle, and Valentino, who Keddie and Fantauzzo welcomed in March 2015.
Having given birth to Valentino at 41, Keddie has been open about the experience of having a child in her 40s.
“At the time, I didn’t think anything of being what apparently is an older mother. I felt the same as I did when I was 25” Keddie told Stellar Magazine.
“I was physically robust and that was fine, but not that long ago I did the stupid sum thing in my head. I thought, oh, I’m counting how old I will be when he’s 18.
Keddie added, “You realise that you’ve probably lived the majority of your life, but you still have young people there whose lives you want to live with them and watch.”
When it comes to their family life, Keddie and Fantauzzo share the load.
“It is a juggle, I can’t lie about that, but my partner Vincent and I just make it work,” Keddie told Who magazine.
“We make choices about how things are going to work, project to project, and how we can put the children first. Everything else can fall in around that.”
