And rather than leave them to sit dormant in her wardrobe, Jolie has made sure her children have the chance to rewear her collection of vintage fashion.

This time, the honour has fallen upon Jolie’s daughter, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, while attending the premiere of her mother’s latest film, Marvel’s Eternals. The 16-year-old stunned in her mother’s 2014 gold Elie Saab Couture gown that she wore to the Academy Awards.

Thanks to stylist Jason Bolden, Jolie left jaws on the floor in a strapless Balmain Resort ’22 dress, with vintage jewellery from Tiffany & Co., while her children each wore a coordinating vintage items. This saw Vivienne and Shiloh sport midi dresses, while Maddox and Knox suited up in all-black vintage ensembles.

“My kids are all mixed with vintage, and in my old Oscars dress,” Jolie told Entertainment Tonight. “We did all vintage and upcycled my old stuff.”

For Jolie, it seems to be the summer of neutral fashion choices. Back in Paris, she sported an effortless white T-shirt, paired with a tan pair of Chloé linen trousers. While in July, she donned an all-black look, combining a knit jumper and jeans while shopping in Los Angeles with Zahara.

As for her latest onscreen performance, Jolie stars as Thena in Eternals, whom Jolie has described as a “warrior”. Having previously spoken up about being encouraged to step into her power for the character, she told People magazine in 2019 that the desire to see her as “strong” really moved her.

“What’s really moving to me is that they want to see me strong,” Jolie revealed, “and so it’s less to see me in a film, but they’re just happy I will be strong and having fun.”

She added, “I’m going to have to work very hard to give the Marvel Cinematic Universe the Thena they deserve.”
