The Australian Open has drawn some big names this year. While there are always plenty of ‘famous faces’ on the court, this year, we welcomed international stars courtside as well.
Academy Award-nominated actress Ana De Armas presented the trophy to this year’s men’s division winner, Jannik Sinner.
The Blonde star appeared alongside two-time Australian Open champion, Jim Courier, to present the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup in its Louis Vuitton Trunk.
De Armas, a Louis Vuitton ambassador, wore a long-sleeved circle wrap vinyl blouse, Boucle Monogram mini skirt and ankle boots by the French maison. She also donned LV fine jewellery, including Blossom mini hoops, earcuff and ring, featuring pink gold and diamonds.
The 35-year-old star is currently preparing for the release of her 2024 blockbuster action flick, Ballerina — a spin-off of the John Wick franchise, starring Keanu Reeves. She’s also starring opposite Sydney Sweeney and Vanessa Kirby in Ron Howard’s Eden.
Meanwhile, Australian actor Joel Edgerton presented the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup trophy to the Australian Open’s winner of the Women’s final, Aryna Sabalenka, alongside famed tennis great Evonne Cawley Goolagong.
Louis Vuitton has long crafted the specialised trunk used to transport the grand slam trophy. Handcrafted by artisans in Asnières outside Paris, the trunk features the iconic LV Monogram canvas and the same brass lock, clasps and corner protectors that have been used on the trunk since the 1860s. The trunk for the AO is lined with blue microfibre that aligns with the tournament’s colour palette and its signature blue courts.
