If you’ve picked your jaw off the floor after watching the unbelievably good documentary series Wild Wild County, Netflix has your next true crime series to watch sorted.
The streaming giant has ordered the four-part original docuseries Evil Genius: The True Story of America’s Most Diabolical Bank Heist, executive produced by Mark and Jay Duplass.
The description alone from Netflix sounds brilliant:
“A robbery gone wrong and a terrifying public murder capture the nation’s attention, and a bizarre collection of Midwestern hoarders, outcasts, and lawbreakers play cat-and-mouse with the FBI. Eventually, a middle-aged mastermind named Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong — once a town beauty, now a woman grappling with mental illness — is arrested. But 15 years later, Evil Genius proves there’s more to the conspiracy and murders than was ever thought.”
Plus, Netflix will release brand new episodes and the documentary series The Staircase, about a crime novelist accused of killing his wife. The new episodes will drop along with The Staircase’s original 10 eps from 2004.
Evil Genius drops on Netflix on May 11.
