Some models should never retire, that much we know as fact. So every time Naomi Campbell returns to the runway, it’s epic. Every. Single. Time.
Taking a spin in the Valentino haute couture spring 2019 show overnight, Campbell proved again she’s the queen of fashion — and no one or nothing will ever be able to walk a runway like she does. Especially not in a sheer dress.
Closing the show, Campbell managed to pull off just that, a completely sheer dress, showing off her incredible torso through the thinly veiled fabric of a black pouf dress, designed by Pierpaolo Piccioli. The dress, which was see-through from the top, was finished with a skirt of satin ruffles. Very couture. Very sheer. Very chic.
The couture show marked 14 years since the supermodel walked for the Italian label, last appearing on the runway in 2005 for the brand’s spring presentation. Often appearing front row, today marked the first time in a very long time that the model appeared on the other side.
But it wasn’t just Campbell who returned for the show. Supermodels Natalia Vodianova and Alek Wek joined her, appearing throughout the show, which was held at Paris’s extravagant Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild.
Campbell might be 48, but to a goddess like her, age is merely a number — and we’re very here for it.
