This year’s BET (Black Entertainment Awards) were a little different than usual, with the event taking place virtually due to COVID-19.
And although there was no physical red carpet, many celebs took the opportunity to pull out their best at-home hair and makeup moves.
Highlights included Tracee Ellis Ross with her cursive hair edges and fuschia lip, Lizzo’s textured updo and Beyoncé’s soft glam.
We were also served a major hair moment from Michelle Obama, with the former first lady sporting her natural curls, as she presented Beyoncé with the 2020 BET Humanitarian Award.
Super-defined, glossy and sitting just above her shoulders, the look was the kind of wash and wear perfection we wouldn’t mind seeing a tutorial on.
Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Michelle Obama wear her natural hair, as she previously ditched her usual glossy blow wave on several occasions, including for the cover of Essence Magazine, and the 25th annual Essence Festival, where her natural texture shone in line with an ombré colour.
Obama paired her BET hair with neutral makeup, a glossy lip and silver hoop earrings, as she was recorded in a chic light-filled office space.
And if you ever needed another reason to colour coordinate your bookshelf, the Obama’s approve this message.
