When it comes to guest lists, the Met Gala’s is one of the most exclusive.
Tickets require a donation of US$50,000 (approx. AU$75,000) but having the cash won’t guarantee you a place—even the most famous of celebrities have to be approved by Vogue editor and host Anna Wintour.
As we get closer to this year’s Met Gala, we can’t help wondering which celebs have received the golden ticket.
Below, every celebrity who has confirmed their attendance—and those we suspect to be on the list.
Who Is Attending The 2023 Met Gala As A Co-Chair?
Dua Lipa
As one of this year’s Met Gala co-chairs, Dua Lipa will be attending the event. The singer announced the news on her Instagram feed: “Excited to announce that I am one of the #MetGala 2023 Co-Chairs… See you for the First Monday in May #CostumeInstitute Benefit.”
Penelope Cruz
As a close friend of Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel muse, it’s no surprise that Penelope Cruz is another confirmed 2023 Met Gala co-chair and attendee.
Michaela Coel
This year, Michaela Coel will attend the Met Gala as a co-chair. While it will be the actress’s first time in the role, it won’t be her time at the event. Coel also attended in 2021.
Roger Federer
While a professional tennis player might not be the first person that comes to mind when you think about the Met Gala guest list, Wintour and Roger Federer are actually close friends. Wintour even penned an essay for his retirement.
“He was interested in fashion and eager to talk about it. There was nothing I wanted to talk about less with Roger Federer than fashion,” Wintour wrote.
“I wanted to talk tennis. We never stopped conversing at cross-purposes this way, him asking me about designers and me brushing off the questions to ask about what he did on the court. But at some point we realized that—even if we never did get the information we wanted—we liked each other enormously.”
This year, Federer will be will be attended as a co-chair.
Who Else Is On The 2023 Met Gala Guest List?
So far, a number of other celebrities have confirmed their attendance.
Elle Fanning
Elle Fanning revealed she was attending the Met Gala during an interview with Variety, when she discussed her outfit plans.
“I sort of sketch everything out so I did a little sketch – an homage to Karl Lagerfeld, of course. I am truly going on theme. I have a good story behind the look that is special to me. I’m excited.”
Emma Chamberlain
Emma Chamberlain will be returning to the Vogue live stream as host. Last year, viewers couldn’t get over the internet personality’s sweet interaction with Jack Harlow on the red carpet.
Kim Kardashian
After much speculation, Kim Kardashian has confirmed her attendance at the 2023 Met Gala. Last year, the Kardashian made headlines for wearing Marylin Monroe’s iconic Happy Birthday Mr President dress.
La La Anthony
La La Anthony has been regular Met Gala attendee since 2011, and this year will be joining Emma Chamberlain to host the Vogue live stream.
Derek Blasberg
Having worked with Karl Lagerfeld on a multitude of projects, it’s no surprise that fashion journalist Derek Blasberg, will also be hosting the Vogue livestream.
Chloe Fineman
Saturday Night Live’s Chloe Fineman will also be joining the celebrities hosting the livestream on the Vogue livestream.
