Red carpet fashion is officially back, and The Met Gala is singlehandedly seeing to it. A slew of major celebrities are descending on New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art for fashion’s biggest night of the year.
Held on Monday, September 13 in the US (early Tuesday morning in Australia), the prestigious fundraiser event sees the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna and Kim Kardashian who join the elite guest list—and walk that coveted red carpet first to show off their ensembles.
This year, the theme of the Met Gala is “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion”—so expect your favourite celebrities to be wearing unique, one-of-a-kind fashion that reflects the talent of designers from the United States who have made a lasting impression on fashion.
The event’s hosts this year celebrate young talent on the global stage: Renowned 19-year-old singer Billie Eilish, 25-year-old actor Timothée Chalamet, 23-year-old tennis player Naomi Osaka and 23-year-old poet and activist, Amanda Gorman.
