While the rest of the world was eyeing off Meghan Markle’s J.Crew coat and ordering her $50 ring during her recent royal visit to Birmingham, we couldn’t help but notice one thing: the future princess has gone and dyed her hair.
Possibly because she knows that as soon as that ring’s on her finger (May 19, people), she’ll never be able to make her own decisions regarding her appearance again, Markle has opted for red-tinted highlights throughout her glossy black locks.
“It allows the hair to reflect dimension, especially on dark brunettes that can tend to look flat,” celebrity hair colourist and co-owner of Lukaro Salon, Rona O’Connor, tells People of Markle’s new ‘do. “Meghan’s colour looks natural, healthy and is low maintenance [and] great for a woman on the go.”

Of course, this isn’t the first time the former Suits actress has strayed away from her signature hair colour: in 2012 she was an all-out redhead, as these photos show.
