Before she was a bona fide princess, Meghan Markle was just a regular Californian-born actress with a dream and a lifestyle blog. And, it turns out, that dream wasn’t to conquer the acting world one legal dramedy at a time, but to be a princess, if we’re to believe a recently surfaced post she wrote back in 2014 on her now-defunct lifestyle site, The Tig.
People reports Markle wrote about her princess dreams by way of introduction to an interview she had with Princess Alia al-Senussi, a descendent of Libyan royalty. Per People, The Duchess of Sussex wrote, “Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power,” and she went on to say she had a “pinch-myself-I’m-emailing-with-a-princess moment” prior to her interview with the Princess.
But that’s not all, according to the article, the 37-year-old also shared her feelings about her newly minted sister-in-law, Kate Middleton and her incredible fairy-tale wedding to Prince William, writing, “Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate.”
Did she have a vision board and copy of controversial 2006 self-help book The Secret by her side to will her dream into reality? We’ll never know, but what we do know is that her dreams, wild though they may have been, have come true because a mere four years after sharing her princess fantasy, she’s now a real-life royal.
