Meghan Markle has had one seriously good maternity wardrobe — that much is true. From her initial post-announcement outfits on the Australian and New Zealand royal tour to her more recent trip to Africa, the British Duchess has proven she knows how to dress for her body, no matter how big her belly gets.
Now, sale finding site Love The Sales has done the maths, working out how much the Duchess of Sussex has spent on maternity clothes. Calculating all 75 of her maternity outfits, the site have broken down her most expensive and least expensive looks — and they’ve figured out how Prince Harry’s wife’s wardrobe stacks up against Kate.
Her most expensive outfit? The site picks the Duchess’s Oscar de la Renta gown as her most expensive, coming in at a huge AU$19,662, not including jewellery.
Her least expensive outfit was worn while visiting Fraser Island. Complete with a dress from &OtherStories, the entire outfit came in at just $837, when factoring in her Karen Walker sunglasses and Sarah Flint sandals.
Her cheapest item was a cream H&M maternity dress which came in at just $48, and fans ‘liked’ the Givenchy gown she wore to the 2018 Fashion Awards the most.
The site also notes navy blue and black as her favourite pregnancy colours, wearing both shades more than any other.
Adding up the cost of all Meghan’s outfits, Love The Sales have estimated the Duchess has spent a whopping $898,000 on clothing during her pregnancy. Yes, close to half a million dollars. But hey, that’s the price of looking royal, right?
The findings also reveal Meghan spent seven times more than Kate did during her pregnancies. Although they don’t give a number, it does lead us to believe Kate spent around $130,000 on maternity clothes — still a staggeringly high figure.
Expensive taste or not, we have to admit it’s all worth it. Royal baby Sussex, you’ve got one stylish mum.
